Disney World Bucket List Experiences – Part 1
Whether you’re planning your very first trip to Walt Disney World or you’re a “seasoned regular”, there are always so many experiences that can make your trip a magical experience for you and your family. Here are just a few unforgettable experiences you may want to add t your Disney Bucket List.
Harmony Barber Shop
This isn’t just for your average adult needing a haircut. Celebrate your child’s first haircut at this wonderful, iconic barbershop tucked away on Main Street USA in Towne Square. “My First Haircut Package” includes commemorative Mickey ears, a special certificate as well as locks of your babies hair packed away in a special keepsake container. Look for the iconic striped barber pole. Reservations strongly encouraged.
Dockside Fishing @ Disney’s Port Orleans @ Riverside
In the serene grounds of this beautiful resort, you can experience casting-rod fishing at the Fishin’ Hole @ Old Man Island at Disney’s Port Orleans @ Riverside. Reel in the fun with this catch and release experience with everything you need available to rent. This pond is stocked with bass, bluegill and catfish. Open most mornings till early afternoon. Ok, I admit I am in love this resort and Port Orleans French Quarter because of the New Orleans/Southern theme. Quite beautiful!
Electrical Water Pageant
Don’t miss this magical floating parade which can be seen nightly in the resort areas of the Seven Seas Lagoon. Your eyes and ears will be delighted as floating barges will light up to display King Triton, turtles, whales, a sea dragon monster, dolphins and several American flags all the while listening to a melody of Disney tunes. Best viewing areas are on the beaches at each of the monorail resorts as well as Disney’s Fort Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground beach areas. Check with your resort for times — the schedule varies. I have watched it several times when staying at one of these resorts.
Explore Tom Sawyer’s Island Frontierland Magic Kingdom
After you’ve traveled by a log raft, take a load off and let your kids explore Tom Sawyer Island while you relax. On the Island, you’ll experience plenty of dirt trails that will lead you to a giant waterwheel, secret caves and passages and plenty of fun things in between to keep the kids busy. There is a fabulous covered and shaded sitting area that faces The Liberty Belle riverboat where you can prop your feet up and relax. Fun to do at least once!
The possibilities are endless for you and your family to enjoy the best possible experience at Walt Disney World. As Walt Disney himself once said, “If you can dream it, you can do it”. Disney World is definitely a place where your dreams can come true. Make it come true for you and your family!
