Places to Cool off at Disney’s Magic Kingdom on a Hot Day – Part 2

Places to Cool off at Disney’s Magic Kingdom on a Hot Day – Part 2

Pirates of the Caribbean

This queue is completely shaded or indoors. In fact, you almost feel like you’re traveling downward to a creepy (but cool!) basement. Plus, the ride itself is downright chilly sometimes and you may get just slightly wet from the mist and spray.  That part is kind of nice on a hot summer day!

Enchanted Tiki Room

The birds of the Tiki Room, like the Country Bears, tend to get overlooked sometimes. But did you know that they were the first of their animatronic kind? And did you know it’s a ten-minute show in the air conditioning? Step inside for a glimpse of groundbreaking technology as well as a break from the heat.

Mickey’s PhilharMagic

PhilharMagic show is just plain fun. Again, it tends to fall to the bottom of many people’s itineraries, but it really shouldn’t! The 3D musical show is fun for all ages and offers alluring padded seating within a heavily air conditioned theater.

Splash Mountain

Splash Mountain is one of the best ways to cool down in all of Magic Kingdom because it combines a nice cold boat ride through Brer Woods and then an awesome plunge into the cool water below. If you can, get a FastPass+ for Splash Mountain during the hottest part of the day, usually right around noon. You might get wet but again that will cool you off during the heat of summer!

Casey’s Jr.

There’s no better way to cool down in Central Florida than to be in the water. That’s why Floridians are so crazy about pools and splash pads! Casey’s Jr., the circus themed splash pad located near Dumbo, provides the absolute best way to cool off on a steamy hot day in the Magic Kingdom. Take a quick jog through the squirting water, or linger a while to get really soaked. (Mom tip: you may want to bring a swimsuit or change of clothes for kids, since “a quick jog through” is not in their vocabulary.)

Yes, it definitely gets hot in Walt Disney World, but even on the hottest day, you can take advantage of these places to cool down. Also, remember that counter service restaurants will always give you cups of ice water for free to refill your water bottles. Some even set up hydration stations outside the establishment so you don’t have to wait in the ordering line! Stay cool and beat the heat, Disney Fans!
