CHRISTMAS AT DISNEY
EPCOT’S CANDLELIGHT PROCESSION
The Candlelight Processional and Choir originally started at Disneyland in 1958. After the opening of Disney World in 1971, the show was held at The Magic Kingdom for several years. In 1994, The Candlelight Processional moved to Epot and it has been there ever since that year.
This is a show you will not want to miss. It’s held in the America Gardens Theatre with three performances nightly. A choir joined by a 50-piece live orchestra and a celebrity narrator reads the story of the birth of Jesus from the Gospel of Luke. The story is told in words and music. Disney cast members try out to be part of the Christmas Tree (in the middle of the choir) and high school and college choirs from different parts of the country are invited to participate.
Each night, a celebrity narrator tells the biblical tale of a savior born to a virgin in Bethlehem. All the while, gorgeous choral pieces are woven into the production as an orchestra and choir provide an inspirational backdrop with songs of hope and joy.
This year, an exciting line-up of celebrities—including a few new faces and voices—are set to lend their talents.
If you are planning a trip to Disney at Christmas, this show will be going on until the end of the year. A very moving performance that should not be missed!!
